Terms of Service
Effective: August 29, 2026
Welcome to Linkfount! By using our service, you're agreeing to these terms. We've tried to make them as straightforward as possible—please take a moment to read them.
Your Account
When you create an account:
- You must be at least 13 years old (or have parental consent)
- Please provide accurate information
- Keep your account secure—you're responsible for what happens with it
- One account per person or organization
- Don't share or transfer your account to others
Your Content
Your content belongs to you. By using Linkfount, you give us permission to:
- Display your content on your personal site
- Make technical adjustments for proper delivery
- Allow visitors to view content you choose to make public
- Use content to operate and improve the service
Remember: The whole point of Linkfount is to create a public personal site. Content you add will be visible to anyone who visits your site.
Content Guidelines
We want Linkfount to be a place for genuine personal expression. Please don't post content that:
- Violates others' intellectual property
- Contains illegal or harmful material
- Impersonates others
- Is purely spam or malware
- Targets individuals or groups with hatred
We'll remove content that violates these guidelines. We'd rather not have to do this, so please use good judgment.
Copyright & DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on Linkfount infringes your copyright, you can submit a takedown notice to our designated agent at [email protected] with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed
- The URL of the infringing content on Linkfount
- Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will review valid notices and remove infringing content promptly. We may also notify the user who posted the content and provide them an opportunity to submit a counter-notice.
Users who repeatedly infringe copyrights will have their accounts terminated.
Payments & Subscriptions
If you subscribe to a paid plan:
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel
- You can cancel anytime from your account settings — your access continues until the end of the current billing period
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have concerns
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
Service Changes
We may update Linkfount's features or functionality from time to time. We'll do our best to notify you of significant changes, but we can't always promise advance notice.
If you don't like a change, you can always stop using the service and export your content.
Backups: We recommend keeping copies of your content as good practice, especially anything you can't easily recreate.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account anytime from your settings. We may also suspend accounts that violate these terms.
When you delete your account, we'll remove your private data, but keep in mind that public content may still be visible in search engines or other places that cached it.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Tilden Software LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Linkfount is provided "as-is." We can't guarantee perfect uptime, feature availability, or that the service will exist forever. We're not responsible for third-party content or links you might encounter.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tilden Software LLC's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Use Linkfount at your own risk—like any online service, things can go wrong sometimes.
Disputes & Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Linkfount will be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Illinois. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction when immediate action is necessary.
You agree to resolve disputes individually. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
General
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Tilden Software LLC regarding the service, and supersede any prior agreements.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
